The founders of Vertebrae have worked in industry and experienced computer crashes first hand—causing loss of data. It was during a late night and early morning that the founders began to talk about online data backup, right after they realized they could not restore the data they had planned on (because the external hard drive had not been backing up properly).
At this point the founders set out to offer a service that could run seamlessly with other computer applications. It was key that the service could be scheduled to run at the users preference and send notices of any backup problems. After much research, the team developed what is now known as Vertebrae Professional and Standard.
